Sacyr has just opened the new eastbound frontage road for the FM 1585 project, its third project in Texas.
This milestone marks significant progress, with the project now 48.52% complete. It paves the way for constructing the new westbound frontage road and the new freeway main lanes, including bridges and ramps.
Sacyr is delivering this project on behalf of the Texas Department of Transportation. The project’s goal, as part of the Loop 88 program, is to convert the existing FM 1585/130th Street roadway from Chicago Avenue to Avenue U from a two-lane rural road into a six-lane freeway with frontage roads, ramps, and bridges over four major intersections.
This upgrade aims to support the region’s growing traffic demands while improving safety and reducing congestion.
